Alcoholism and Work Attendance Question

Can my employer fire me for attendance issues if they are caused by my alcoholism?

Which of the following responses are correct?

a. Yes, because alcoholism is not a disability under the Americans with Disabilities Act.


b. No, because alcoholism is a disability and attendance problems caused by a disability are protected.


c. Yes, because although alcoholism is a disability, my employer may enforce its attendance policy against me.


d. Yes, but only if regular attendance is an essential function of my job.
