Can the Department of Labor help me find a job?

Yes, it can!  The Connecticut Department of Labor is offering several workshops aimed at helping unemployed workers find jobs this fall.  Workshops covering topics such as resume writing, interviewing skills, free basic computer classes, and networking are being offered in Torrington, Danbury, Hartford, Waterbury and Hamden. Visit to learn more.

Also, the DOL maintains a “Reemployment Portal” online, which offers quite an array of services.  It can help match you with a career you are interested in, and help you find the educational services necessary to pursue that career.  It provides information about upcoming job fairs  and allows you to search for employers in areas you are interested in. If you happen to be a veteran, there are even more resources available to you. Read more online at www.ctdol.state.ct.usVetsServices.

I worked for a retailer and was a Plaintiff in a class action for unpaid overtime wages. Hayber, McKenna & Dinsmore did an amazing job of getting our unpaid overtime back to us. Every one at the firm that I dealt with through that process was wonderful to work with. I appreciate all they did for us more than you will ever know.
