Can the Department of Labor help me find a job?

Yes, it can!  The Connecticut Department of Labor is offering several workshops aimed at helping unemployed workers find jobs this fall.  Workshops covering topics such as resume writing, interviewing skills, free basic computer classes, and networking are being offered in Torrington, Danbury, Hartford, Waterbury and Hamden. Visit www.ctdol.state.ct.us to learn more.

Also, the DOL maintains a “Reemployment Portal” online, which offers quite an array of services.  It can help match you with a career you are interested in, and help you find the educational services necessary to pursue that career.  It provides information about upcoming job fairs  and allows you to search for employers in areas you are interested in. Visit www1.ctdol.state.ct.us for more information.

If you happen to be a veteran, there are even more resources available to you. Read more online at www.ctdol.state.ct.usVetsServices.
