Can my employer deny me paid sick time?

Not any more, if your employer has more than 50 employees. The Connecticut legislature just passed a law requiring these employers to give their employees 5 paid sick days off per year. Check out Attorney Dan Schwartz’s blog for a full explanation of the bill.

The law does have some exceptions: manufacturers are not required to comply with this law, and temporary employees are not entitled to the paid sick leave.

Overall, this is a great bill!
